Body
First Day Access (FDA) is a collaboration between your instructor, the STC Bookstore, and the publisher of your materials. This was created to provide you with the least expensive way to purchase your materials, combined with the convenience of charging the materials to your STC account.
- The course materials your instructor has chosen are delivered directly to you in a digital format through the LMS.
- There is no need to purchase a textbook. Supplemental books are available for some titles.
How do I pay for my materials?
You will be charged for the course materials for this course on your tuition bill. If you added the course late, you will be charged by the Business Office which will reflect on your STC account.
How do I access my materials?
You will receive an email from the STC Bookstore with instructions for accessing your materials. Instructions can differ by publisher, so you may receive more than one set of instructions.
What if I don’t want to purchase my materials this way?
It is recommended that you attend class first before choosing this option. If you don’t want to purchase materials this way, you may opt-out. Opting out means that you choose to deny the FDA course materials and that you will be getting the course materials on your own. This means that you will be responsible for getting your own course materials by the end of the add/drop period. You can opt out or opt back in up until the opt-out deadline, at which point the choice is final.
I forgot to opt out and missed the deadline.
If you do not opt-out by the deadline, your FDA transaction is final. The deadline is the last day of the add/drop period.
Who should I contact if I’m having trouble with access to the online content?
Please contact your instructor first. They will have step by step instructions on how to access your course materials. If you are unable to get the proper support from your instructor, we then suggest contacting the publisher. Lastly, if your problem still hasn’t been solved, please create an IT Support ticket or contact Adam Wells (adam.wells@southeasttech.edu).
